Job Description

Position Summary Responsible for managing the overall operations of a Jack in the Box unit. Uses discretion in daily management decisions with accountability for ensuring effective execution of the Service Profit Chain (SPC) and Brand Promise. Develops the team to provide excellent internal and external service, build restaurant sales and profit while ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. Reports To District Manager Exemption Status Exempt Department Restaurant Field Operations Key Duties / Responsibilities Internal Service: Recruit, select, train, develop, and evaluate restaurant employees; monitor staffing levels; ensure training systems are fully implemented; identify and develop internal candidates for management positions; create an “employee friendly” environment; motivate and inspire employees; treat all employees with respect and dignity; recognize and reward performance. External Service: Manage daily activities to achieve operational excellence; provide an exceptional guest experience through training and accountability; respond to guest concerns promptly; maintain brand image through cleanliness, maintenance, and service; serve as a role model for guest service. Sales & Profits: Analyze operational and financial performance using tools such as I&E, quality and service reports, health inspections, and HACCP; identify trends and implement action plans; focus on increasing sales and profitability via the SPC; monitor costs, budget adherence, and restaurant goals. Qualifications Education: High School Diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor's degree preferred. Experience: Internal Promote – minimum 1+ years as Associate Manager or 2 years as First Assistant Manager; must be 100% certified in all workstations. External Recruit – minimum 3 years managing a service concept with full P&L responsibility. Knowledge / Skills / Abilities: At least 18 years old; must complete Manager training classes; ServSafe certified; proficiency in English (reading, writing, speaking); basic math skills; analytical, organizational, and planning abilities; self‑starter; PC and related software proficiency; valid driver’s license and personal vehicle for bank deposits and travel; ethical behavior. Physical Requirements: Stand/walk 85%‑95% of shift; lift 10‑65 lbs; move freely throughout the restaurant; operate equipment and drive; use keyboard.
