Job Description

Overview

Schedule, optimize and coordinate Centerline vessel movements according to customer orders to ensure customer satisfaction. Maintain records and process paperwork to ensure proper billing. Maintain communications with vessel Captains and barge PIC’s regarding change of orders. Assist in developing and monitoring procedures and programs to track company and crew activities. 

Responsibilities
  • Communicate daily traffic to internal and external customers
  • Provide timely and accurate job status updates to customers
  • Work with local vessel agents and terminals to ensure efficient operations
  • Maintain the confidentiality of all sensitive materials and communications
  • Accurately complete required Company and Customer documentation
  • Employee feedback on scheduling courtesy and communications
Qualifications
  • Four-year college education in Maritime, logistics or related studies; or equivalent experience
  • Extensive knowledge of scheduling, terminal, tugboat, or oil transportation industry preferred
  • Professionalism while interacting with internal and external customers and coworkers.
  • Ability to handle stressful situations and multiple schedule changes throughout the day.
  • Must be able to prioritize duties and maintain organization and detailed documentation in a fast-paced changing environment.
  • Capable of making decisions and giving directions to facilitate prompt service delivery.
  • Ability to understand and execute complex oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal or no guidance.
  • Ability to interface with others using courtesy, tact, and good judgment.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel applications.
  • Valid TWIC or ability to obtain upon hire.
  • Valid State Driver’s License.
Job Condition and Environment
  • Required to sit for long periods of time.
  • Infrequent light physical effort required.
  • May be required to board tugs and barges while in port.
  • Work with computers, fax machines, copiers, scanners, and Microsoft operating systems.
Expected Hours of Work
  • 7 on / 7 off 12-hr workday schedule
  • May occasionally be required to cover after hours dispatch service.
